About Link4Help
Link4Help is a free, publicly accessible directory of mental health crisis resources across all 50 United States and Washington, DC. We connect people in crisis with verified crisis centers, psychiatric hospitals, hotlines, and mobile crisis teams.
Our Mission
Every year, millions of Americans experience a mental health crisis — a moment when they or someone they love needs immediate help. In those moments, the difference between getting help and not getting help often comes down to one thing: knowing where to go.
Link4Help exists to close that gap. We maintain a comprehensive, verified directory of over 3,400 mental health crisis facilities across every US state, organized by city and facility type. Our directory includes crisis stabilization centers, psychiatric hospitals with emergency services, 24/7 crisis hotlines, and mobile crisis teams that come to you.
We believe that access to crisis mental health information should be free, immediate, and available to everyone — regardless of insurance status, income, or location. That is why Link4Help is free to use, requires no account, and will always remain so.

About Our Founder
Patrice Buwe, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC
Patrice Buwe is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Registered Nurse with nearly three decades of clinical experience spanning psychiatry, behavioral health, intensive care, palliative care, utilization management, and healthcare research.
Patrice holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University and a Master of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Throughout her career, Patrice witnessed firsthand the difficulties individuals and families face in accessing crisis care — the fragmented resources, the difficulty finding reliable information, and the barriers to affordable treatment. She founded Echobridge Health, LLC to address those systemic gaps, and Link4Help is the direct result of that mission: a free, no-barrier resource that anyone can use — no login, no insurance, no cost — designed to serve the most vulnerable populations, including those who are uninsured, underinsured, or navigating a crisis for the first time.
Editorial Standards & Data Verification
Accuracy is paramount for a crisis resource directory. Incorrect information during a mental health emergency can have serious consequences. Link4Help follows a rigorous data verification methodology:
Primary Data Sources
Facility data is sourced from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) FindTreatment.gov API, the official US government database of behavioral health facilities. SAMHSA data is supplemented by state-level mental health authority directories.
Verification Process
Each facility listing is cross-referenced against publicly available records including state licensing databases, CMS provider databases, and facility websites. Phone numbers and addresses are verified through multiple sources.
Regular Updates
Facility data is refreshed on a regular schedule. Listings include a "Last Verified" date so users can assess recency. Users can report inaccurate information through our contact page.
Limitations Disclosed
We clearly disclose that Link4Help is a directory service, not a crisis line. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our data is only as current as our last verification cycle, and we encourage users to call facilities directly to confirm details.
Our Coverage
Link4Help currently covers all 50 US states and Washington, DC with over 3,400 verified mental health crisis facilities. Our directory includes four types of crisis resources:
Crisis Centers
Walk-in crisis stabilization facilities offering immediate psychiatric evaluation and short-term stabilization. No appointment needed.
Psychiatric Hospitals
Hospitals with psychiatric emergency departments and inpatient psychiatric units for acute mental health crises.
Crisis Hotlines
24/7 telephone and text-based crisis lines staffed by trained counselors, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Mobile Crisis Teams
Licensed mental health professionals who respond to psychiatric emergencies in the community — at homes, schools, or public spaces.
Privacy & Trust
We take privacy seriously, especially given the sensitive nature of mental health crisis information. Link4Help does not require a user account to search for resources. We do not track or store individual search queries. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
For complete details on how we handle data, please review our Privacy Policy.
